Dr. Melissa Korland provides personal, friendly service in a caring environment for children of all ages and their families. As a busy mother and professional, Dr. Korland knows firsthand the struggles of daily parenting, especially if mental health difficulty is a part of the picture. Whether it is early intervention or solution-focused treatment, Dr. Korland is committed to positive change with a holistic and integrative approach.
My practice is a fee-for-service practice. This means that payment for assessment and treatment is arranged directly with each client or family, and I do not bill or accept insurance. Payment is requested at each appointment, by check or credit card. I do not participate in managed care networks or panels. However, many clients are able to utilize their out of network benefit coverage from their insurance policy to recoup a percentage of the cost of treatment. Please check with your insurance carrier to be fully informed of your benefits. I will prepare a monthly statement for you to submit to your insurance company to process claims. Assessment and treatment fees may also be paid for by funds from a Flexible Spending Account or a Health Savings Account.
Dr. Korland attended Washington University in St. Louis for her undergraduate education, graduating magna cum laude. She went on to receive her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Toledo in clinical psychology, with an emphasis on child clinical practice. She completed post doctoral fellowships at both Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus (Ohio State University) and at Applewood Centers in Cleveland. Dr. Korland has trained and worked in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, medical offices, and private practice. She has been a licensed psychologist in the state of Ohio since 2004.
